- Heat-resistant tape

- Pen Stainless Steel (Substrate)
- Oven: Heat Shrink
- Heat gun or hair dryer if using heat shrink

📝 Preparation
- For templates, mock-ups and image size requirements, please refer to the Design tab.
- Print your design and mirror your image.
- Clean the substrate printing surface using a microfibre cloth or lint brush to remove dust, oils or lint.
- Place the printed image face up and align the substrate to the centre of the print.
- Secure the edges using heat-resistant tape to prevent movement.
🖊️ Pen Press Pressing
- Set the pen press to the listed settings.
- Position the transfer around the pen or pen insert and secure it firmly.
- Place the pen into the pen press using the correct insert or attachment.
- Press at the listed settings.
- Remove carefully when the timer has finished. The item will be hot.
🛠️ Oven/Air Fryer Baking
- Heat the oven to the required temperature.
- Apply heat shrink, heat tape or a suitable silicone clamp.
- Place the substrate inside the oven.
- Bake at the listed heat settings.
- In some air fryers, you may need to rotate halfway through baking due to insufficient air flow.
- Remove carefully from the oven after the timer has finished. The item will be extremely hot.
❄️ Cooling and Assembly
- Carefully remove the substrate from the press (it will be hot).
- Peel off the sublimation paper while the substrate is warm for best results.
- Allow the substrate to cool completely.
- Attach internal mechanisms back to the pen.
✅ Tips for Best Results
- Ensure full edge-to-edge coverage in your design to avoid white borders (ensure bleed is sufficient).
- If colours look dull, increase time by 5 seconds or pressure slightly.
- If the coating looks yellowed, your temperature is too high or time too long.
- Store substrate in a clean, dry, dust-free area before printing.
- When taping the seam, tape with high pressure applied to the print ensuring tightness.
- Do not press with internal mechanisms inside pen.
- Trim heat shrink to not have too much excess overhanging, it is hard to remove.
