No protective packaging in the box but based on previous reviews I read I expected that. All Mugs are unbroken in transit. Mugs seem to sublimate fine. I suspect this is how they are purchased wholesale and the unopened box just gets sent on. I was glad to see fragile tape on the box. Would buy again.
