Epson UltraChrome DF ink was developed for direct-to-garment (DTG) production. It was formulated to enable high image quality along with reliable and consistent printer performance. Due to the variety of film and powder products now available, the range of print speeds and print modes supported by Epson printers, customers are strongly recommended to perform print tests prior to production. It should be further noted that transfer performance can vary depending on the interplay between the powder, the fabric / merchandise surface as well as settings used during baking and subsequent pressing so additional testing is recommended to ensure optimal results.

Epson DF ink features a formulation that when affixed to fabric, is certified under Oeko-Tex Eco Passport standard as being safe for use by adults, children, and babies up to 36 months. It has also been approved by GOTS and has passed the CPSIA Section 108 standard. Ink ships in pouches that are quick to load and easy to replace. Pouches should be used before the date specified on the packaging and once opened, consumed within one year. For optimum results it is recommended they be removed daily and shaken vigorously before reinsertion. To ensure reliable operation, Epson printers undertake continuous self-cleaning and ink recirculation. While printers can be switched off for periods of time, if equipment is not expected to be used for a period of more than a week then it is recommended that they be left on. If the printer is to be moved or not expected to be used for a period of several weeks then it is recommended that the extended shutdown process be performed.
