📝 Preparation
- For templates, Mock-ups and image size required, please refer to the Design tab.
- Print your design, MIRROR your image.
- Clean the substrate printing surface using a microfiber cloth or lint brush to remove dust, oils or lint. (As per substrate)
- Place the printed image face up and align the subatrate to the centre of the print.
- Secure the edges using heat-resistant tape to prevent movement.
🛠️ Mug or Tumbler Press Pressing
- If this is your first press of the this size substrate or you have changed inserts, make sure you do a pre-check before heated to make sure the pressure is correct. You should think that the substrate is nearly going to break as the correct pressure.
- Heat the press to required temperature.
- Position the substrate inside the element.
- Press at listed Heat Press Settings Above.
- Remove carefully from press after timer has finished. (Caution: Will be extremely hot.)
🛠️ Oven Baking
- Heat the oven to required temperature.
- Apply heat shrink and heat or apply silicone clamp.
- Place substrate/s in the oven.
- Position the substrate inside the oven.
- Bake at listed Heat Press Settings Above.
- In some air fryers, you may need to rotate half way through baking due to insufficient air flow.
- Remove carefully from oven after timer has finished. (Caution: Will be extremely hot.)
❄️ Cooling and Assembly
- Carefully remove the substrate from the press (it will be hot).
- Peel off the sublimation paper while the substrate is warm for best results.
- Allow the substrate to cool completely.
✅ Tips for Best Results
- Ensure full edge-to-edge coverage in your design to avoid white borders (ensure bleed is sufficient).
- If colours look dull, increase time by 5 seconds or pressure slightly.
- If the coating looks yellowed, your temperature is too high or time too long.
- Store substrate in a clean, dry, dust-free area before printing.
- During extreme cold weather press for a while longer. (+- 10 Percent of total time)
- Print your prints using our templates which have a black border which you cut slightly inside and this will produce consistent alignment of imagery on large runs.
- Wait for the substrate to reach room temperature before placing in plastic bag and packing into packaging.
